About
Stan Filippin serves as Executive Vice President of Business Development and VP of IT at BioMedica, a pharmaceutical company specializing in the commercialization of rare disease therapies across emerging markets. Since joining BioMedica in 2022, he has been central to the company's mission of ensuring that patients in underserved regions gain access to innovative, high-value therapies in oncology, neurology, hematology, hepatology, ophthalmology, and metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
His work focuses on identifying and cultivating relationships with decision-makers at small and medium-sized biotech companies in the United States, European Union, South Korea and Japan — enabling breakthrough therapies to reach patients beyond their home territories through compliant market-access, distribution, and named-patient programs.
Beyond business development, he has shaped BioMedica's brand presence in North America, led digital marketing and brand guidelines development, and spearheaded the establishment of the company's legal entities and offices in the United States. Most recently, he negotiated and announced a distribution agreement with Santhera, expanding patient access to Santhera's rare disease portfolio across BioMedica's network.
A sought-after voice in the rare disease commercialization space, he has spoken publicly at the Rare Disease Summit USA (2024) and Pharma Partnering USA (2024).
